Selena Gomez's friends are reportedly worried about her spending time with Cara Delevingne while "vulnerable".
The singer-and-actress celebrated her 22nd birthday at the end of last month on a luxury yacht in Saint-Tropez, France, with the British model and they both attended Leonardo DiCaprio's Foundation Gala. Prior to this the pals had ventured out together to various events such as a Katy Perry concert.
They may be getting along well, but some people apparently don't approve of their spending time together.
"They've got really close, but Selena's pals know Cara has a wild side, and they're desperate to keep Selena sober - she's vulnerable, especially as her on-off romance with Justin Bieber ended a few weeks ago," a source told British magazine Closer.
At the beginning of this year Selena completed a secret two-week stint in rehab, which came after she cancelled part of her tour. Her rep confirmed it had nothing to do with addiction, but the star has yet to comment on why she sought help.
This is another reason why those close to Selena are said to be anxious about involvement with Cara, who has caused controversy with her antics such as dropping a packet of suspicious white powder last year.
"Selena is still getting herself back together post-rehab, and friends fear Cara might be a bad influence," the source added.
Despite these reported fears, the brunette beauty is said to feel comfortable in the fashion star's company. She also appears to have struck up a new romance with Italian businessman Tommy Chiabra.
"Selena insists she's in control. She really likes Cara and her carefree attitude," the insider concluded.
