Sigur Ros' Jonsi has cancelled the remaining instore shows on his current tour of North America.
The frontman was due to play six acoustic shows, but after his gig at Los Angeles' Origami Vinyl on Sunday (October 17), he has pulled the rest of the shows.
His management stated that the intimate setting was "the most uncomfortable experience of his ten years in the public eye".
"Jonsi was always sceptical about how it [the instore shows] would pan out in reality," his management said in a statement on his official website, Jonsi.com. "Standing there nose-to-nose with fans in the cold light of day the other day in Origami Records, Los Angeles, he had the sudden and undeniable realisation that this is not the environment in which he flourishes."
"Arguably it was the most uncomfortable experience of his ten years in the public eye," they continued. "And as a result we are unwilling to put him in the line of fire again."
The rest of Jonsi's headline shows in support of his debut solo album 'Go', will still take place as planned.
