Sigur Rós premiere ‘Heima’ at Proms

Further to the news that Sigur Rós are releasing a full-length film and a double CD to accompany it, EMI Records is proud to announce that the film 'Heima' receives its UK premiere at the BBC Electric Proms on October 24th.

It will be screened at Cecil Sharp House, the headquarters of the English Folk Music and Dance Society in Camden at 2 Regents Park Road, London, NW1 7AY. Sigur Rós will be in attendance and the evening will include a unique acoustic performance by the band.

The BBC Electric Proms is a five-day festival designed to create new moments in music and takes place from October 24th to 28th in Camden, north London.

Tickets cost £10 and are available from midday on Wednesday Sept 12th. 'Heima' will be unveiled at its World Premiere at the Icelandic Film Festival on September 27th and after its UK premiere on October 24th it receives a cinema release in the UK before being released on DVD on November 5th, alongside the companion double album 'Hvarf-Heim'.

The DVD release of 'Heima' features many extras including three exclusive brand new tracks from Sigur Rós entitled 'Heima', 'A Ferd Til Breidafjardar 1922' and 'Gítardjamm'.

Disc 1: Heima

The 97-minute film of the band's free Icelandic tour of 2006/07. Audio in DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound and PCM stereo. Includes 'Commentary' from the band's manager, John Best.
