Sigur Ros's 'Hoppipolla' has been hard to miss on British TV for years. Now it seems its creators are sick of it as well. Speaking to Gigwise, Sigur Ros frontman Jonsi Birgisson has said he's unhappy with the song's recent ubiquity.
"'Hoppipolla' has been raped on British TV", he told the website.
"In some weird way, the national TV here in Britain doesn't have to ask permission to use songs if it's in the background of TV shows or whatever. So they can just take it and use it and that happened a lot with 'Hoppipolla'."
He did, though, give his blessing for use on Planet Earth.
"The David Attenborough show was cool though. We're all big fans of his."
