Former Sleater-Kinney frontwoman Corin Tucker is gearing up to release her first solo album.
The album will be called '1,000 Years' and will be released through Kill Rock Stars in October.
Some of the tracks were conceived for Twilight: New Moon soundtrack, but as Tucker said in a presser, "They didn't work for the movie, but I kept them anyway. The themes work exactly. The monsters, beasts and demons, all those things working on you."
The album is expected to be a more mellow affair than anything in Sleater-Kinney. It sounds like she could have taken her own advice and no longer be full of "rock 'n' roll fun", rather full of folky string-drenched keyboard fun.
The record features Seth Lorinczi from The Golden Bears and Sara Lund from Unwound and was recorded at Little Golden Book Studios.
