Snoop Dogg has put the call out to TV executives to help him launch a new The X Factor-style talent show that he says would go "straight to the hood".
The rapper held a press conference for journalists in a London strip club yesterday (May 17) afternoon, saying that he was up for making a more streetwise version of the hit singing show.
"X Factor is great but I need to do a show that goes straight to the hood," he said. "I want to find that raw untamed talent that hasn't been dressed up all nice for the TV. Any TV companies want to help me, then they know where I am." He added that the show, if it gets made, would feature performers "with no money, just raw talent and natural ability".
A reality TV revolution wasn't the only thing on Snoop's agenda, though. He also said that he wants to "open up a supermarket chain... but I'm going to call them Snoopermarkets".
Talk at the event turned to the state of hip-hop, too, with Snoop asked what he thought about Odd Future's Tyler, The Creator's lyrics about "40 year-old rappers talking about Gucci", from his song 'Bastard'.
"Hip-hop is in a great place and for those that have something negative to say about it – suck a fat baby's dick," Snoop declared.
The rapper played the London HMV Forum last night and released his new album 'Doggumentary' last month.
