The US star, 39, made an appeal to networks in the US to let him put on a new show to find 'America's hottest 'hood artist'.
He told BBC Newsbeat: 'My take on those shows like American Idol and X Factor - those are some great shows but I need to make a show like that directed to the 'hood.'
The rapper has recently been in the UK to promote his new studio album Doggumentary.
He said that the show is for 'the audience that don't get that attention, that don't have the money to make themselves look presentable, but the raw talent and natural ability'.
