Singer-turned-celebrity DJ Solange Knowles is struggling to spend long periods of time away from her son as she strives to complete her long-awaited new album.
Beyonce's younger sister took to Instagram on Tuesday night (15Dec15) to share her despair at the issues of being a working mum, revealing her most recent two-week absence was the longest period she had spent apart from 11-year-old Julez.
"8 gigs, 8 studio sessions, 6 flights, in 2 weeks...." she wrote alongside a photo of herself lying on a bed, "but got to sleep in my bed for 2 nights".
"While I was home Julez pulled out my chair for me at lunch, said he'd sell his Nintendo so I could get a dress I loved when we went (and) stopped by a store...," she gushes. "He's phenomenal and I'm in love with (him) and it's really really hard to be away.
"I cried this morning because this is the longest we've been apart and my insides kind of split in half when I headed to the airport, but I'm working really really hard to finish this damn album and so grateful to have his and my hubby's support."
The star, who wed music video director Alan Ferguson last year (14), is working on her third studio release, the first since 2008's Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams, and although the long days and time away from home often drive her mad, she is grateful to have the opportunity to pursue her career dreams.
"At the end of all, just when I think I'm going to do something crazy like get a face tat (tattoo) or shave my eyebrows off... my heart just explodes with gratitude... that this is my life," she continues. "I couldn't be more grateful, humbled, and really, God honestly, blessed."
Closing with a little hard advice to herself, she concludes, "So suck it up bissh (b**ch), and stop being emo and whiney on the insta, and get the f**k back to work (sic)".
Julez is Solange's only child with her first husband, high school sweetheart Daniel Smith, who she divorced in 2007 after three years of marriage.
