This week at the Electricity Showrooms in Shoreditch, a hub of musical talent gathered for the PlayStation 3 SingStar Motown launch.
Mercury music prize winner Speech Debelle, Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie, The Stone Roses' Mani, The Saturday's Vanessa and Remi Nicole were all in attendance enjoying the music.
Speech Debelle even took to the SingStar Motown microphone. Despite rocketing from obscurity to tabloid fame in the space of a week she still seemed extremely shy and humble as a person. She kept very much to herself inside the party and avoided mixing with the trendy set of East London, preferring to sip a soft drink in the corner with a couple of her friends.
She was tentative about approaching the mic at first, however, when she started singing she relaxed, was confident and got all the guests onto the dance floor whilst thanking Marvin Gaye for being her inspiration and refusing to sing anything else but his tracks (although she did put a hip hop twist on the classics, of course!).
