2008 is set to be a true year of celebration as Status Quo hit the road for a UK tour and unleash "Pictures: 40 Years of Hits" a multi-format collection spanning their incredible chart career which started forty years ago with the "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" single.
Each version of "Pictures: 40 Years Of Hits" - which is released on 3rd November 2008 through UMTV on an array of formats including 4CD 'EarBook', 3CD [featuring DVD and rarities], 2CD, USB, Digital and Vinyl - offers differing configurations of content.
When Quo release their first ever Christmas single "It's Christmas Time", they will have released an incredible 75 UK singles and the 4CD format will offer for the first time ever remastered versions all of the original radio edits of Quo's singles on one package. Quo have reached a serious milestone and the occasion is truly being marked!
The 'EarBook' release is a lavish 4CD and full colour 120 page Art book that reflects the forthcoming lavish star-studded auction / album launch that will be held for "Pictures: 40 Years Of Hits" at the elite auction house Bonhams on 5 November. A huge range of musicians, artists and stars have taken up a challenge from The Prince's Trust and have created their own version of a classic Quo single / album cover and their creations will go under the gavel with all proceeds going to raise funds for the charity. Personalities as diverse as Brian Wilson, Andrew Marr, Alice Cooper, Fiona Phillips, Liverpool FC, Sir Steve Redgrave, Harry Hill, Chris Tarrant, Rolf Harris, David Shepherd, Quo themselves, the cast of Coronation Street and Sir Bob Geldof have all contributed works – some of which have to be seen to be believed.
The band will also undertake a UK Winter tour featuring a brand-new one-off setlist packed with hits to mark the occasion and boasting state of the art stage backdrops evoking classic Quo moments, this is a Quo tour like none before. Tickets for the "Pictures – 40 Years Of Hits" tour are on sale now from 0844 576 5483 or www.livenation.co.uk [tour dates over].
