After a whirlwind 2008 that's included 4 festival headline slots, the release of sterling album 'Double Bubble' and electric sold-out live gigs in over 20 countries, Stereo MC's close the deal with a triumphant super show at London's biggest, hottest venue; the 02 Arena!
Supporting kings of Ska; Madness, Stereo MC's bring their home-grown, electro fused hip-hop sound back to London town where it all began. True to their roots Stereo MC's have been producing fresh material from their Brixton base, opening up the house as a studio to some of South London's freshest talent and collaborators including reclusive producer Tic Toc. A show at the 02 will be the last chance this year to catch the dynamic, down to earth and driven band play their latest material in one of the Capital's most renowned venues.
Rob Birch & Nick Hallam formed Stereo MC's back in the late 80's and the last year has refreshed the success they enjoyed with hits like Connected and Deep Down and Dirty. Touring material from their latest album 'Double Bubble' has re-invigorated their fan base and met rave review internationally both for the material itself and the charismatic live shows.
Continuing to be hard to define and to move with the times whilst remaining unquestionably rooted to who they are and what defines them as musicians is a tricky balancing act for any band at any time, but for the Stereos, who, stretching right back to debut album '33-45-78',have always been pioneers of well produced and ahead-of-its-time dance music, the fact they manage to remain so effortlessly pigeonhole defying is both admirable and credible.
Now London is set to experience what journalists have spent over a decade trying to define, and this triumphant gig will explain everything!
