Stereophonics were chased by police for two miles before having their tour bus searched for drugs.
The Welsh rockers – who were on their way to a show in Vancouver, Canada – were pursued by officers after their bus driver had parked illegally. But his failure to pull over raised suspicions the band were smuggling drugs in their instruments.
Singer Kelly Jones said: "What a day! We got chased by the cops for two miles – for illegal parking.
"We got stopped and searched, the bus was searched and we had to unload the trailer.
"It was aggressive border control. One of the guards started talking about a guy who used to smuggle drugs through bands' equipment."
'The Bartender And The Thief' singer then added to suspicions by claiming he was friends with Howard Marks – a notorious Welsh drug smuggler.
He added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "I said, 'Are you talking about Howard Marks? He's my friend.' You can imagine the rest."
The band were let off with a warning.
