Stevie J sure has a way with the ladies, to say the least. While he does get into a ton of drama on VH1's "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta," that is nothing new for the former Bad Boy producer. Back in the early 2000s, Stevie J appeared in a sex tape with his then-girlfriend Eve, and it caused quite the scandal.
"I'm a pioneer, I'm the pioneer, young pioneer," Stevie said, acknowledging the X-rated vid with the popular rapper/actress when he appeared on Wednesday's "RapFix Live." "I made a tape and gave it to her and she took it on the road, on tour with her, and the rest was history."
Many believed it was Stevie who leaked the footage, but over a decade later, he adamantly denies the charge. "It wasn't me," Stevie said with laughter, mimicking the chorus to reggae singer Shaggy's 2000 hit "It Wasn't Me."
"It wasn't me, I didn't leak that joint. I gave it to her and one of her girlfriends leaked it, thank you very much," Stevie continued. "I don't want my beefcake all in the street."
Nowadays Stevie is out of the sex-tape business, but his life seems to be just as scandalous. As a castmember on "Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta," the hitmaker responsible for songs like Mariah Carey's "Honey" and the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Mo Money, Mo Problems" puts all of his business on front street. In one of the show's more intriguing story lines, Stevie J is the catalyst of a love triangle between his daughter's mother Mimi Faust and his artist Joseline Hernandez. Stevie has also come to blows with fellow castmate Lil Scrappy.
Stevie's antics have resulted in huge ratings for "LHHA," but he insists that he is just being himself. "I just live my life. I don't even care about the cameras around. I just do what I do," he said. "If it shocks the world, then you know, I guess they're in shock."
