It's hard to imagine Stevie J. and Lil Scrappy coming to any type of accord after their "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" fistfight, which aired a few weeks ago, but if the multiplatinum producer had things his way, he and the Prince of the South would put their differences behind them and get to work.
"I never wanted to escalate to that, that's why I came out to try to defuse the situation," Stevie J. told "RapFix Live" host Sway Calloway on Wednesday's show. "At the end of the day, I just wanna get with the dude and make some records with him, make some hits and just keep it pushin'."
On the July 9 episode of "Love & Hip Hop," Stevie and Scrappy squared off after Stevie called the mother of Scrap's daughter, castmember Erica Dixon, a bitch. Stevie was eventually apologetic, but the argument quickly escalated into a full-blown brawl.
Stevie admitted his initial wrong-doing on "RapFix Live": "I disrespected his baby mother, but as a man, I came back and apologized. I was like, 'Yo, let's get money,' and then it just changed lanes. At the end of the day, I'm a grown man, and I'm just gonna defend my manhood, that's it — bottom line."
The "LHHA" cameras caught it all, but when the footage was edited for TV, it was unclear who came out on top. In an interview with Atlanta's Hot 107.9, Scrappy claimed that after the fisticuffs, Stevie J. went to the hospital for treatment. In the show, Stevie J. did appear woozy after security guards lifted him up from the floor in the aftermath of the dizzying melee, but the controversial reality show star insists that he was fine. "It wasn't no knocking out," he said.
Yes, "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" is over the top, but it's all real, said show producer Mona Scott-Young. "We don't feed you information. It's not scripted," Scott-Young told "RapFix Live." "That's the most ridiculous thing that I hear all the time. There are like 40-something people on set. Do you think I can get them all to keep the secret? What do they do with script afterwards — eat it? This is their lives!"
