A student who attended the college class taught by Kanye West last week as part of his community service has discussed his experiences.
West is currently carrying out mandatory community service after attacking a paparazzo at LAX Airport. He was sentenced to 250 hours community service, anger management counselling and one day in jail.
Speaking to Complex, 19-year-old student Andre Pitt discussed how West surprised his after-school class by turning up to teach a two-hour 'lesson' as part of his community service.
"None of the students knew that he was going to show up," he explained. "We were asked if some students wanted to help other students with their work after class, so I agreed to try to help other students with their work."
When Kanye West walked into the classroom, he continued: "Well my heart dropped, I didn’t believe what I was seeing. For four seconds I was like, paused. I was like, 'Is that who I think it is?' After that I just started to try to pull out my phone and get a photo of him."
Surprisingly, the surprised students remained fairly subdued after the rapper entered the room: "He walked through the door and then nobody was yelling or anything obviously, but everyone kind of just started talking to the people around them and he went over to the instructors of the class and spoke to them quietly for a minute. And then he introduced—well he didn’t introduce himself—but the teacher kind of said, “Well all of you know who this is obviously,” so then he started talking."
Pitt also teased a rather intriguing tidbit about West's supposed involvement with the Illuminati: "And then someone finally did actually ask about the Illuminati, and I don’t want to say too much because he did tell the truth this time but I don’t have it on film so I cant really back that stuff up, but he did talk about that topic."
West is currently preparing his new album, the follow-up to 2013's Yeezus, with singer Theophilius London recently claiming to have heard it played in full.
