TAKE THAT have revealed that Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel were their inspiration.
The pop band said the duo's 1986 duet, Don't Give Up is the song that has influenced them the most.
Their choice was revealed in a book called Inspired* By Music, which will raise money for The Princes Trust charity.
Frontman Gary Barlow said: "I don't think you can listen to this song without feeling inspired, it could save anybody - the lyrics are so inspirational.
"I was having a very low moment in the 1990s and the song came on the radio. There have only been a very few times when I've had to pull the car over to listen to a song - this was one of them."
But his bandmate Howard Donald said he disagreed with the choice.
He explained: "It was a majority decision and I got out-voted. I would have chosen 'Someone Saved My Life Tonight' by Elton John.
"Saying that, I really like the song and can see why it inspired Gary. If you're going through a low point in your life it's a beautiful song to sing."
