Matthew Healy and George Daniel of The 1975 joined Absolute Radio backstage at the Isle of Wight Festival. They openly dissed Latin Grammy Award winning rap star Pitbull following his World Cup Opening Ceremony performance with JLO.
Matt said "Pitbull prancing around. I mean what is Pitbull? What's he doing? No-one knows….why was he even at the World Cup ceremony? He's not Brazilian is he? All a little bit strange. It seemed if you were vaguely Hispanic you got to perform".
A chance meeting with The Red Hot Chili Peppers was on the cards although the England game comes first over the performance. George said "I know one of the photographers for the Chili's so we're gonna try and meet them. We love them but we'll still be watching the England game over the performance - Sorry guys. We'll meet you but we won't watch you".
The 1975 are in the midst of one of the busiest schedules of their career and don't know whether they're coming or going "In the last five days we've been to America, Majorca, Ibiza and Belfast and we're going to Holland tomorrow. It's all very confusing"
Matt commented on the recent picture in the press of the band in a supposed writing session with One Direction and Fall Out Boy after they were in the same recording studio "Can you imagine - Fall out Boy, One Direction, The 1975 - worst super band ever, no disrespect".
