Overview
Australian indie legends The Go-Betweens are to play a special one-off show in London looking back on their 26-year career.
The group, led by mainmen Robert Forster and Grant McLennan, will perform at the Barbican on June 27. They will be accompanied by a string section and other guest musicians. There will be no support act for the show, which will be in two parts with an intermission.
The Go-Betweens were formed in 1978 by Forster and McLennan in Brisbane, Australia. They released six critically acclaimed album in the Eighties but commercial success eluded them and they split up in 1989.
After acts such as Belle And Sebastian and Coldplay cited the band as a huge influence, Forster and McLennan revived the name in 2000 and they have released two albums since then, the most recent being 2003's 'Bright Yellow Bright Orange'.
