The Killers release "Dirt Sledding (featuring Ryan Pardey and Richard Dreyfuss)," their tenth consecutive annual Christmas single for (RED), out now via iTunes.
Dirt Sledding completes the group's unofficial "Santa Trilogy" of Christmas songs, following 2007's Don't Shoot Me Santa and 2012's I Feel It In My Bones. The song was recorded at The Killers' own Battle Born studio in Las Vegas, and features Ryan Pardey as Santa, while the actor Richard Dreyfuss also makes a spoken word guest spot.
The video for "Dirt Sledding" was directed by Matthew Gray Gubler, with filming taking place at Sandy Valley Ranch in Sandy Valley, Nevada.
As with all of The Killers' previous Christmas singles, all proceeds from the song's sales will go to the Global Fund to fight AIDS via (RED):
Since 2006, The Killers have donated 9 tracks in support of (RED), the AIDS organization founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver. Thanks to their generosity, sales of those tracks have raised more than $850,000 for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, which is the recipient of all (RED) money. The money is used to help end mother-to-child transmission of HIV… and deliver an AIDS Free Generation.
In the nearly 10 years since (RED) was founded, it has generated more that $320 million to fight AIDS, benefiting more than 60 million impacted by the disease.
