The Metros to play acoustic set in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.
February's The Break Sessions promises to deliver a great musical treat. The Library in Islington hosts the return of the monthly acoustic night where funds are raised for Teenage Cancer Trust.
February's line up will include the acoustic version of South London five-piece The Metros (www.myspace.com/themetrosband) a band whose chaotic punk rockabilly sound meets witty tales of bunking trains, the degradation of the Welfare State, nights out for a tenner and old Cockney lags with sawn-off shooters. Last of the lookers, on their debut album - More Money Less Grief has been hailed "the record of the year, hands down" by The Guardian. Other accolades include: "You'll love them – it's just a matter of how soon" - NME, and "The youngest, hottest band on the block" - Sunday Mirror.
Joining them will be two of the five from 2008's XFM Uploaded Competition Winners Five Working Days http://www.myspace.com/fiveworkingdays .
Front magazine resident siren Alex Sim-Wise www.myspace.com/alexandramodel will be spinning the tunes on the night.
A raffle will be held on the night giving people a chance to win tickets to a Fratellis gig of their choice. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust.
Entrance is free but donations are welcomed for Teenage Cancer Trust. The night will kick off at 8pm and carry on till late.
