The Rolling Stones agreed to have two songs censored during their Super Bowl performance, according to National Football League (NFL) officials.
During the songs 'Rough Justice' and 'Start Me Up' the sound was muted, during lyrics that were deemed inappropriate for the half-time show. But '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' was left intact.
"We agreed to that plan earlier in the week. The Stones were aware of it and were fine with it," said NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy.
The cutting of the sound during The Stones' performance is thought to be due to the controversy following Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" during her Super Bowl performance with Justin Timberlake in 2004.document.write(unescape("
