The Rolling Stones have announced they will postpone their 14 On Fire tour until October, following the death of frontman Mick Jagger's partner L'Wren Scott.
The band will return to Australia and New Zealand in October. Their 14 On Fire tour was due to kick off Down Under last night (March 19), but the shows have been postponed after Mick Jagger's longtime partner L'Wren Scott died on Monday (March 17).
Promoters Frontier Touring have now released a statement regarding the future of the 14 On Fire tour, assuring ticketholders that the Stones will be returning later on in the year, with exact dates still to be confirmed.
"If the new dates are not suitable, rest assured you will be able to secure a refund," Frontier Touring said. "While we encourage fans to hold on to their tickets, the option to secure a refund is now available to you via the official ticketing agency you purchased from."
Mick Jagger has said he is "still struggling" to understand the death of his partner of 13 years, who was a successful fashion designer and former celebrity stylist and model.
Bandmates Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood have spoken out in support of Jagger, with Watts saying: "Needless to say we are all completely shocked but our first thought is to support Mick at this awful time. We intend to come back to Australia and New Zealand as soon as it proves possible."
Wood added: "This is such terrible news and right now the important thing is that we are all pulling together to offer Mick our support."
