June 7th 2005 sees digital artist The Sweet Chap return with his second single - the stunning Shiver, taken from his long-awaited debut album, Disco For A Domestic, due out on Protest Recordings in August.
Shiver itself follows hot on the heels of the double A side of Girl With The Curl / Superman 3 which was released on February 28th on iTunes and www.protestrecordings.com.
With more than 50,000 downloads to date for The Sweet Chap and coverage from everyone from NME to MTV, The Sweet Chap's unique and captivating sound has already sparked huge praise from the media.
The Sweet Chap's newest release looks set to become a feature on nationwide radio, with support already from XFM and 6Music, whilst a string of live dates across the country see him perform at The Barfly, Manchester Dry Bar, Notting Hill Arts Club, The Social and 93ft East.
The Sweet Chap was also a highlight at the Carling Academy Islington on Friday 22nd April where he played, interestingly, with another digital artist, Universal's The Modern, which will be recorded and broadcast across the entire Tiscali portal to 8 million active users.
The Sweet Chap also supports Kosheen on the 21st May at the Middlesex University Summer Festival.
With the forthcoming merger of the download and singles chart coming after the announcement that downloads outsell ALL OTHER singles formats, it would seem the time is ripe for labels like Protest and artists like The Sweet Chap to rise to the forefront of the music scene. Shiver will be available across all major digital retailers including iTunes, Napster and HMV.co.uk as well as on www.protestrecordings.com.
