The Temper Trap have gathered up 19 new songs to take to the studio for album number two.
The Temper Trap are 10 days in recording at The Sound Factory Studio in Hollywood with Beck/Silversun Pickups producer Tony Hoffer. The Sound Factory has been used by Ringo Starr, Dolly Parton, Brian Wilson, Jackson 5 and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
They have taken 19 new songs into the studio down 40 written earlier in the year in Spain. The 19 will be whittled down to an album's length.
Yesterday they recorded a song titled 'Trembling Hands'. This will be the first album as a 5-piece band after officially welcoming Joseph Greer to the fold last month.
It will also be the first album since Jonathon Aherne became the first father in the band following the birth of daughter Stella in October.
The Temper Trap formed in Melbourne in 2005. Their debut album 'Conditions' reached No.9 on the ARIA chart in Australia and went Top 30 in the UK.
The single 'Sweet Disposition' peaked Top 10 in Belgium, Ireland and the UK and reached no. 14 in Australia.
