The Verve to record again

The Verve are working on a new album and have extended their upcoming reunion tour, adding a second Manchester show.

The definitive line-up confirmed plans to play a series of gigs in December this week, after selling-out six comeback concerts in November.

Today the Britpop icons confirmed a new date at Manchester's Central venue, when the first sold-out within minutes of going on-sale this morning.

Richard Ashcroft and co have also been speaking about their decision to reform, with recordings for a fourth album understood to be underway.

"We're not here to get on the f*cking couch. We've got our lives, we've got kids, we've got our wives", he told the NME.

"There's a lot of sacrifice goes on making a record and we're prepared to do that", Ashcroft explained.
