The Wombats have announced a special concert for 2012 which will see Liverpool's finest performing for one night only in the spectacular woodland location of Delamere Forest as part of Forestry Commission Live Music.
The Wombats classic debut album 'Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation' generated indie dancefloor smashes 'Kill The Director', 'Let's Dance To Joy Division', 'Backfire At The Disco' and 'Moving To New York'. The band's latest album release, 'This Modern Glitch' has provided three of the band's biggest airplay hits to date with its first singles 'Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)', 'Jump into the Fog' and 'Techno Fan'. The band has just finished an extensive UK tour including three homecoming shows in Liverpool.
In what is a local gig for the band, Delamere Forest will provide a stunning backdrop for the outdoor performance, providing a natural amphitheatre set in a forest clearing. Full bar and catering services will be available with ample parking provided on site and Delamere train station nearby.
Forestry Commission Live Music is an independent programme bringing music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship. Income generated from ticket sales is spent on improving the local forests for both people and wildlife.
Commenting on the gig, Matthew Murphy from the band said, "We have heard so much about the vibe at Delamere Forest gigs, it's been on our radar for some time and we're really pleased to be asked to play - here's to a 'Party in a Forest.'"
The Wombats plus guests will be performing:
