U2 have paid tribute to Nelson Mandela as the former South African president celebrates his 93rd birthday.
The band performed a special rendition of 'Happy Mandela' during the encore of their gig at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field.
In video footage, which can be seen below, the whole crowd accompany the Irish band on the tribute.
According to the New York Post, U2's rendition of 'Happy Birthday' was scheduled to be played during a birthday party for Mandela held in New York on Monday (July 18) – his actual birthday.
U2 are currently performing across the US as part of the latest stint on their 360 degree world tour.
