Billboard.biz confirmed that U2 will bring its 360 tour to Nashville's Vanderbilt Stadium on July 2. It's the first time the band will play Nashville in 29 years. Where ya been the last 29 years of Nashville residents’ lives, U2?
The July 2 date will be U2's first appearance in Nashville since December 2, 1981, which was also held at Vanderbilt. Commenting on U2's return to Nashville after such a long absence from the market, tour producer Arthur Fogel, chairman of Live Nation Global Touring, told Billboard.biz, "In rescheduling the postponed dates to 2011 it opened up the opportunity to add a few additional cities. It has been a very long time since U2 has played Nashville -- too long -- and it will be a great show in a great city."
