U2 to Wrap Comeback Tour's European Leg in Rome

After postponing the second North American leg of its tour due to back surgery for frontman Bono, U2 is back in fine form and wraps the sold out second European leg of the record-breaking 360 tour tonight at Olympic Stadium in Rome.

The band will take a break until they start up in New Zealand in late November and then head to Australia for a series of stadium shows, with rapper Jay-Z opening.

Jay-Z to Join U2 on Tour in Australia

U2 will return to North America next year for its make-up dates, and sources say they are adding a few more shows to that route. The band is also planning shows in Capetown and Johannesburg, South Africa, in February, their first trip to that continent since the PopMart tour in 1998.

In the spring, U2 will likely head to South America before returning to North American shores.

U2 Debuts New Material at Tour Comeback

The 360 tour seems to have lost no momentum on its march toward becoming the highest-grossing tour in history; two shows in Mexico City sold out quickly at 85,000 tickets each for shows at Azteca Stadium in May of next year.
