Producer Diplo brings indie and dancehall stars together for second Major Lazer album.
MIA-collaborator and producer-extraordinaire Diplo has revealed a litany of stars that appear on the second album from his Major Lazer project with Switch.
He spoke to Interview magazine about the follow-up to last year's ground-breaking big-beat reggaeton mash-up Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do.
He revealed that Vampire Weekend, Lykke Li and Santigold will appear.
Once again, he grabs a collection of Jamaican dancehall legends, including Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Junior Murvin, Vybz Kartel, Bugle and Timberlee.
He said, 't's like reggae is the vehicle, but we really live in this Major Lazer post-apocalypse world where all these artists don't seem strange together.'
The album is slated for release next year, but we may well hear some new tracks when he perform with the Stereosonic festival, which runs around the nation in late-November and early-December.
