Vampire Weekend new album almost written

Vampire Weekend singer Ezra Koenig reveals that the band are close to having a new album written.

Koenig was actually interviewing fellow New Yorker Hamilton Leithauser of The Walkmen for Spin Magazine when he revealed that his band has written "80 percent" of a new album.

Into the interview, Leithauser asks Koenig "How have you guys been?" and Koenig replies with "Pretty good" then explains that their working on their third album.

"It's been a long process," he continues. "We always try to write and record at the same time. So we've always got some ProTools session demo that tends to actually turn into the finished product. I think we have 80 percent of the songs now."
