Vanessa Paradis fears she will be "fired as a mother".
The French actress, model and singer explained how demanding her work schedule currently is.
In the past year the star has been promoting her film Café de Flore, prepping for her role in next year's movie release Fading Gigolo and planning a new album.
She has also had to deal with the end of her 14-year relationship with Johnny Depp, who she has two children with.
"If I do more than I'm doing right now, I'm going to be fired as a mother," Vanessa laughed to V Magazine. "I know what I'm doing next, and next is my record. But after that I don't know."
The 39-year-old refused to admit she has been keeping a busy professional schedule on purpose.
Vanessa claimed she is naturally ambitious, and her multiple projects are not her attempt to distract herself from heartbreak.
"I do a lot of things. But I don't see it like, Oh, well, now I'm going to do more things," she explained. "There are things that you investigate - especially music, because music is my thing. It's different than being part of a movie when you're into someone else's vision, someone else's project - although I love that also."
Vanessa discussed her current work on her sixth studio album, a collaboration with the celebrated French singer and producer Benjamin Biolay.
She revealed the varied album will offer musical influences inspired by African, French, reggae and Cuban sounds. Looking to the future, Vanessa doesn't wish to slow down or change her demanding schedule.
"I wish to do just as I'm doing now, except with different adventures," she said. "It's whatever comes down your road."
