Fifteen of the best rising music stars have been announced as the longlist for the BBC's Sound of 2009.
West London's White Lies and singer-songwriter Florence and the Machine make this years prestigious list.
The list is designed to find the best up-and-coming acts for the coming year, with the winner to be named in January.
Adele finished top of the 2008 list, which proved the judging panel right in the last year, having had a number one single and album and nominated for the Mercury prize and Grammy awards.
Other successful acts featured on last year's list included the Ting Tings, Duffy, Glasvegas and Vampire Weekend.
This year's longlist includes arty duo the Big Pink, singer-songwriters Dan Black, Passion Pit and Grammy-nominated hip-hop princess Lady GaGa.
Also featured are doo-wop doyenne V V Brown, rapper Kid Cudi, nu-folk group Mumford & Sons and remixer Frankmusik.
