Some of music's finest took to the stage in Kentish town last night (Thursday 20th) for Radio 1's 'In New Music We Trust' gig.
A night that was about new and returning talent, kicked off with DJ sets from Zane Lowe and Nick Grimshaw.
Tickets for the event were free with the main puller being the return of UK's favourite Wite Lies. L.A's Funeral Party opened the proceedings, thrashing out tracks from their debut album 'Golden Age of Nowhere'.
A handy DJ set from dubstep's rising star Nero got the crowd pumped before BBC's Sound of 2011 nominee Jamie Woon proved why he is certainly one to watch in the coming year.
Who could sum up an event more than noise pop duo Sleigh Bells. The pair took to the stage to the sound of Slayer before performing a truly impressive live set of tracks such as 'Tell Em', 'Infinity Guitars' and 'Kids' from their 2010 debut.
The BBC gig marked the White Lies first 2011 performance of new album 'Ritual', before they head out on their own UK tour. White Lies performance was a small snippet of things to come for the them, their new album could certainly be filling arena sized venues this year.
The band provided fans with a mixture of favourites 'A Place To Hide, 'Death' and 'Farewell To The Fareground', ending their triumphant set with new single 'Bigger Than Us'.
