William Shatner has been kicked off Google Plus, the legendary actor has said.
Google's attempt to break the social network monopoly of Facebook is only a few weeks old, but that hasn't stopped them from booting out the Star Trek icon.
Taking to Twitter earlier this morning (July 18), the 80-year-old wrote: "My Google Plus account was flagged for violating standards.
"Saying hello to everyone apparently is against the rules maybe I should say goodbye?"
Tech blog TechCrunch reported that the issue probably arose due to the fact that some of Shatner's fans thought that the profile of the former Captain Kirk was a fake.
Google Plus, with or without octogenarian stars, has exploded in popularity since launching.
