Willow Smith thinks "don't come here with that" when she sees hateful comments aimed at her online.
The 11-year-old singer burst onto the music scene in 2010 with her chart-topping hit Whip My Hair. Willow - who is the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith - has come under fire for her confident and wise-behind-her-years attitude in the past, but chooses to ignore such negative comments.
"I send love and positive energy to all those people in their lives," she explained in an interview with Yahoo!'s The Yo Show. "I hope that they find where they're meant to be and all that stuff, but it's kinda like, don't come here with that."
Willow was unsure of herself when she first entered the industry. The star sought advice from her showbiz parents in order to gain the necessary assurance.
"When I first got into the entertainment industry, I would always watch Rihanna and all those people, so I was like, 'Ooh, I have to be this,'" she said. "So my mom was like, 'Just be yourself.' Just two months ago, I kinda gained confidence. I can make my entertainment thing go wherever I want it to go."
Earlier this month, Willow released her I Am Me music video at the BET Awards. The star has explained her more mellow musical direction with the new single.
"I was kinda more into the ballady stuff 'cause when you sing ballads, people can see more of your voice and I like that," she revealed.
