Wu-Tang Clan are planning to release a unique LP this year, tipped to be a piece of "art" that will be on sale for millions of dollars.
The record will be 31 tracks in length, encompassing a 128 minute running time and titled The Wu - Once Upon A Time in Shaolin. It will be the second album released by the crew this year (hopefully) with new album A Better Tomorrow due for release at some point in 2014.
“We’re about to sell an album like nobody else sold it before,” RZA told Forbes. “We’re about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of [modern] music. We’re making a single-sale collector’s item. This is like somebody having the scepter of an Egyptian king.”
If you don't think that's insane enough already, he also said that the crew had hopes of touring the album before putting it up for sale. Meaning that that they would take it from art gallery to art gallery, where people would pay to listen to it in full. Picasso and Lichtenstein, eat your heart out.
