Wyclef Jean has set a release date for his forthcoming 'If I Were President: My Haitian Experience' EP.
The six-track release, inspired by his failed bid to run for office in Haiti earlier this year, is set to be released digitally on December 7.
The ex-Fugees singer faced problems registering his candidacy due to him not living in the country for the five years before the election, as is required under candidacy rules.
Writing on his blog at Wyclefjean.wordpress.com, Jean explained that the lead track from the record, 'Election Time', was "inspired by Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick In The Wall' and Fela Kuti's 'Zombie'".
He added: "It's the voice of the youth. It is the voice of this generation. It's the artist once again doing what the politicians should be doing. This is about inspiring the voice of this generation."
The song is streaming on the blog now. Jean is planning to head out on a world tour in 2011.
