Sonny Moore Biography
Sonny Moore was born on January 15, 1988 in Los Angeles, California and was raised by adoptive parents, Scott and Francis Moore. He moved to San Francisco when he was two and moved back to LA at the age of 12. Three years prior to moving to LA, he received his first guitar as a Christmas present. However, he didn't get into it until he was 12; by then he had taught himself how to play it and he would write his own songs all the time. He finally met Matt Good when he was 15 through MySpace. Matt told him that their guitar player had quit and that they were looking for a new one. Sonny then went out to Valdosta, Georgia where they were recording the new record. After the band heard him sing "Featuring Some of Your Favorite Words", they decided to make him the lead vocals. After that, the band wrote all the vocals with Sonny in just a week. On From First to Last's tour for the album 'Heroine' (Black Crows and Underdogs) Sonny began experiencing vocal problems. They were forced to resign from further tour dates, while Sonny went under many surgical procedures, all of which were successful. Shortly afterward (February 26th, 2007 being the official date) Sonny announced that he was quitting the band to work on a solo career in the electronica / classical / alternative genre. Later in Kerrang he would then state that the reason for his doing so was because he was unhappy.
