Syntax Biography
At least three artists share the name Syntax: 1) "Syntax" are a London based electronic duo formed by MIKE TOURNIER and Jan Burton in 2002. Mike Tornier is well known for his work as a 'groove technician' with 90s electronica setup "Fluke". Jan Burton (vocals), influenced by bands like "The Doors" and "Pink Floyd", calls himself 'Mr Five Piece Band and Guitars.' The first single "Pray" (2002) made top 30, was a dancefloor smasher and was leading them to a contract with the Illustrious label. "Destiny" was featured as the theme song for "Conviction" (2005), and "Pride" was featured in "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (2004), "Nip/Tuck" (2005), "Bones" (2006) and "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" (2007). A new Syntax album is currently in the works and there are hopes for it's release sometime in 2009. 2) An Australian hip hop artist. 3) An alias of the Japanese visual and electronic music artist, Shigetomo Yamamoto.
