Tania Libertad Biography
She was born in Peru, and has been based in Mexico for more than 20 years. Her extraordinary career has taken her to all the great concert stages in the world. With 36 CD releases, and with sales of over 4 million, her work has been hailed throughout the Americas, Europe and Africa. Her most recent recordings Costa Negra and Negro Color have established her as one of the most important singers in World Music . In recent years she has performed successful concerts in France, Italy,Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, England, Morocco, Angola, Senegal, the United States, Peru, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Uruguay, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, El Salvador, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. Tania Libertad represents fearlessness and freedom, tastefulness and vocal virtuosity, absolute integrity, passion and commitment to life and to humanity. In recognition she has been named HONORARY UNESCO PEACE AMBASSADOR . She has also received the title of " COMENDADORA " by the government of Peru and the ORDER OF RIO BRANCO by the Brazilian government.
