After bombarding the East coast with over 2500 copies of their demo CD, the guys quickly found themselves playing in front of larger audiences, opening for national acts such as Cartel, Four Year Strong, Smoking Popes, & Hot Rod Circuit. Playing every show they could weasel their way onto, they caught the attention of the Vans Warped Tour and were invited to perform on the "Kevin Says Stage" in 2006. With this momentum, The Appreciation Post headed to Strangeways Recording Studio in Burlington, VT to work with producer (and ex-Hot Rod Circuit drummer) Michael Poorman (Piebald, Hot Rod Circuit, Paulson). On February 23rd 2007, The Appreciation Post released a 5-song EP titled "Brighter Sides". Songs from that EP were licensed to MTV. "Brighter Sides" was also released in Japan by IN-n-OUT Records in early 2008 as a "Deluxe Edition" which included two unreleased bonus tracks ("Stay" & "Make Your Move"). Steady support from taste-making websites such as Purevolume.com & Absolutepunk.net helped earn The Appreciation Post great exposure through the web, reaching nearly a half million plays & 25,000 myspace fans. After touring much of the US, logging more than 250 self-booked shows in support of "Brighter Sides", the band found themselves in Chicago recording a new record with buzz producer Marc McClusky (Ludo, Farewell, Powerspace, Hit The Lights). On Tuesday Feb 16th, The Appreciation Post released a FREE 7-song digital Ep titled "Work/Sleep". Paired with dark, clever lyrics and a fresh spin on the synth-rock genre, this albums slick production and no-brainer hooks are sure to take The Appreciation Post far in 2010.
