Zewdy Biography
Combine passion, attitude and a bolster of pure talent and you get R&B /Pop Princess, Zewdy. The young talent flooded YouTube with over 100 cover songs, capturing the attention of listeners all over the world. Delivering a sound similar to that of hit sensations, Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Celine Dion, and Christina Aguilera, Zewdy offers an energy long absent from the industry's talent pool. Born July 4,1992 in New York City and raised in Union, New Jersey, Zewdy sharpened her talent on a Karaoke machine purchased by her singer/song writer father, Habte Awalom, a long-time veteran musician in the states. The young pop princess would utilize school musicals and random competitions as a medium to express her vocal talent, where she attracted a lot of attention, eventually being asked to sing at several reputable events, including the National Anthem at the reinstatement ceremony of Union’s mayor. In an effort to reach more with her incredible talent, in 2007 Zewdy began posting video blogs and cover performances of hits like Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable” Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance", Jazmine Sullivan's "I need you bad" and Amy Winehouse's "Rehab". Quickly stretching her fan base anywhere from New York to Germany, little girls everywhere have fallen in love with Zewdy's pure talent and impeccable charm. The R&B/Pop sensation is currently recording with Norwegian producer, Lars Hustoft, and spinning off her debut tour on the East Coast. Among some of her original recorded songs are "Painless Love," "Spellbound," "Breathe," and "Too Late".
