Details about the publication are unknown even to Lauper herself, who did not own a copy of her own until a fan gave her one in 2002. Lauper then remarked she was paid only twelve dollars for her singing - to "sound like someone else." After Lauper's later success, a 12-inch vinyl single featuring new remixes was published in Japan in 1984 by a small independent record company called "Jam Spot", which was a division of the Yamano Music Company In 1989, a three-inch CD single also appeared in Japan with the same mixes.
