Jb Biography
What is JB’s own personal philosophy on life? “Good business is followed by good business.” If you treat others right then they’ll treat you right. A self-described driven, laid back guy, JB knows that it takes more than just raw talent to reach the top. JB started rapping when he was just 13 years old. His cousin Sam was the first to get him into entertainment. She pushed him to do talent shows and to perform, and even though she passed away, he’d gotten a taste of it and wanted more. During his young adulthood JB encountered tough times and grew up with a parent on drugs. Dealing with the harsh environment that comes with a family of addicts, he struggled to find his place in life. But after a brief run in with the law, he realized he needed to wake up if he ever wanted to rise above the problems he saw in the world. Even with his difficult background, JB chooses to be positively influenced by what he sees in the world and music around him. Sick of all of the aggressive music with no heart put into it, JB decided he wanted to give back to hip hop, not only as a person but as an artist. Creating his own fusion of different blends of genres, he describes “mob rock” as something for those both into rap or rock to enjoy; that allow those who didn’t want to get hyphy to still get aggressive. At first, JB began working with Z Rokk and Diamond Kid Records just to record a couple songs and they unexpectedly created distinct and diverse tracks. After many positive responses from all who came in contact with the music, JB became the first artist to be signed to Diamond Kid Records. JB has his own production company called BGK, the Black Global Kings. BGK was started by him and his cousin, to help give back to their hip-hop culture and to add real talent to the music scene. His hope is that he can use his company to help change the face of hip hop and become a prominent figure in music, not only as an artist but a businessman as well. None of this has gone to his head though and JB remains, as he puts it, “just black”. Not affiliated with any gangs, he chooses instead to be cool with everyone. He uses music to express his creativity and will jump out of as many boxes as he can as long as he can always get back home. For now his goals are just to live a good life, make some money, and feed his family. Be on the lookout because JB hopes to someday make BGK a global icon as well as to create his own free public black TV station that’s not on cable
