But the second and third refers to ................????????????????????? They swept past the waterfront and the railroad yard .Beukes lay back in his seat, low,peering out over the edge of the window,watching the passing traffic,and looking back through the rear window now and again. He wanted to drop off to sleep .Now that he was in the car, sleep crowded against him and he felt hot and weary but he knew he had to keep awake. You learned to be on the look out unless you were absolutely undercover ,a fox in its hole, a lizard under a rock, but even then you were unsure. They might be near, the might be nowhere or everywhere,you never really could tell.
