The East End Film Festival (EEFF) is delighted to announce that the closing film at this year's festival will be a special screening of THE BLUEBLACK HUSSAR, the director Jack Bond's documentary of Adam Ant.
The night at The Genesis Cinema in Whitechapel on Wednesday the 25th of June will also feature a Q & A with Jack Bond.
THE BLUEBLACK HUSSAR is an insightful documentary that follows Adam Ant during his obsessively driven comeback of 2011 after battling mental illness, sectioning and public acrimony. Having previously profiled the likes of Salvador Dali and Roald Dahl, Jack Bond brilliantly documents one of Britain's most iconic and charismatic musicians return to prominence.
A ride along with Adam Ant's return, THE BLUEBLACK HUSSAR is prefaced by the once world-famous music star's halcyon days in the 1980s and his disappearance from public life. Featuring the likes of Charlotte Rampling, Mark Ronson, Allen Jones, John Robb and Jamie Reynolds the film charts the road back for a true English original.
Still channelling his highwayman / soldier persona, he has, against all the odds, got himself back to playing to huge audiences once again, culminating with the Hyde Park show in front of 55,000. Unapologetically and without compromise, it's an ode to a true British dandy highwayman.
This is the East End Film Festival (EEFF) thirteenth edition and this year's programme includes 15 World Premieres, 8 European Premieres, 25 UK Premieres and 15 London Premieres.
